How to Cook Chicken Thighs

Chicken thighs are juicy, flavourful, and incredibly versatile — perfect for roasting, grilling, pan-frying or slow-cooking. Whether you're cooking them bone-in or boneless, skin-on or skinless, they’re a reliable go-to for easy, satisfying meals.

  • 01 Oven-Baked (Boneless, Skinless) Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C fan-forced.
  2. Lightly oil and season the thighs with salt, pepper, and any extra herbs or spices.
  3. Place in a baking dish or on a tray, spaced out evenly.
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and cooked through (internal temp should reach 75°C).
  1. Heat a non-stick or cast iron pan over medium heat.
  2. Place chicken thighs skin-side down and cook for 6–7 minutes until skin is crispy.
  3. Flip and cook for another 5–7 minutes until cooked through.
  1. Place chicken thighs in a slow cooker with your favourite sauce or broth.
  2. Cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until tender and falling off the bone.

The safest way to thaw chicken is in the refrigerator, allowing it to defrost slowly overnight. Avoid thawing chicken at room temperature, as this can encourage bacterial growth. If you need it quicker, you can thaw it in a sealed bag placed in cold water, changing the water every 30 minutes.
