How to Cook: Aussie BBQ Chipolatas

For best results, cook your beef BBQ sausages on a low to medium heat to ensure they stay juicy and don’t split.

  • 01 Preheat Your Grill Or Pan
  • 02 Cook Gently
  • 03 Check They’re Done
  • 04 Let Them Rest
  • Use a low to medium heat to avoid burning the skin before the inside is cooked.
  • Lightly oil the grill or pan if needed.
  • Place chipolatas on the grill or in the pan.
  • Cook for around 2–3 minutes per side, turning regularly.
  • Total cooking time is usually 6–8 minutes, depending on thickness.
  • They should be golden brown all over and cooked through.
  • For peace of mind, ensure the internal temperature reaches 75 °C.
  • Rest for a couple of minutes before serving to keep them juicy.

Can I take sausages out of the skin?

Absolutely! You can remove the sausage meat from the casing and use it in a pasta sauce, or form it into small burger patties. Both options work beautifully and add great flavour to your dishes.

How long do sausages last?

Fresh sausages should be consumed within 2–3 days when stored in the fridge at or below 4°C.

Do your sausages contain preservatives?

Most of our sausages contain only a very small amount of preservative, just enough to maintain freshness. We also offer preservative-free sausages, which can be ordered by calling the store. Please note that the minimum order for preservative-free sausages is 5 kg.

Are your sausages gluten free?

Yes, all our sausages are gluten free.
