How to Cook: Sicilian (Thin) Sausages

Sicilian thin sausages are bursting with bold Mediterranean flavours and cook quickly, making them perfect for a fast and tasty meal.

Remove sausages from the fridge about 10–15 minutes before cooking to help them cook evenly.

Barbecue: Set to low to medium heat (around 150–160 °C).

Pan: Heat a non-stick or heavy-based frypan over low–medium heat, adding a little oil if needed.

Make two or three shallow diagonal cuts on each sausage to prevent splitting and ensure even cooking.

  • Place sausages on the grill or in the pan.
  • Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning regularly for even browning.
  • Total cooking time should be about 6–8 minutes, depending on thickness.

Ensure the internal temperature reaches 75 °C or that there is no pink in the centre when cut.

Let sausages rest for 2–3 minutes to lock in juices before serving.

Can I take sausages out of the skin?

Absolutely! You can remove the sausage meat from the casing and use it in a pasta sauce, or form it into small burger patties. Both options work beautifully and add great flavour to your dishes.

How long do sausages last?

Fresh sausages should be consumed within 2–3 days when stored in the fridge at or below 4°C.

Do your sausages contain preservatives?

Most of our sausages contain only a very small amount of preservative, just enough to maintain freshness. We also offer preservative-free sausages, which can be ordered by calling the store. Please note that the minimum order for preservative-free sausages is 5 kg.

Are your sausages gluten free?

Yes, all our sausages are gluten free.
